Anyone know if Fort Scott had a newspaper in 1864/65? It is believed that my GGGrandfather, John Hugh Barnett, froze to death in a Kansas snow storm late 1864 or early 1865 just before his youngest son was born. Thought there might be a newspaper article about it, or some kind of record, and don't know who to contact. Any ideas?
