Barnes Cemetery - Goff, Kansas

Well! It certainly pays to stop at people's houses and ask them questions!!!! Yesterday I was driving around the back roads in Goff, Kansas, and I stopped at a guys house that is close to the old one room school house my Grandmother attended with her brother's and sisters, to see if he knew any more about the school then I did. Anyway, we got to chatting, and when he asked my family's name and I told him my maiden name was Barnes, he told me that only about 2 miles away was an old cemetery called "Barnes Cemetery". I went to it and it is pretty small, and very old. Some of the headstones were so old you couldn't read them, or had broken in two. But it has been well taken care of by someone-the broken headstones are stuck back in the ground where they should be and it was mowed. There were quite a few Funds burried there, as well as some Troxels. (I can remember my Grandmother said she walked to school as a child with 'the Fund boys') Also a few other names but I can't remember them off hand. The most recent headstone was from the 1970's. I did take a couple of pictures of it, and I'll post them when I get the film developed so if anyone is interested they can see them. :)
