I find my great grandfather, Enos Grube, living in Rock, Marshall County, KS in the 1880 Census. He left Hellertown, PA and came to Kansas a couple of years before 1880. My first question that I need answered is who did he come with or whom did he know that lived there already? He and his wife Clarisa Yellis was of German descent and of Lutheran religion. Does anyone know of any of their ancestors that came from Northampton or Bucks Counties, PA? Can someone fill me in on what the area is like and what was going on about 1880 to bring him to this county? He must have lived there only a few years because he homesteaded 160 acreas after that in Winslow, AR. Any info appreciated. My grandmother was born in Kansas in 1882, does this county have any records of births?
