Hi....Bernice

Have you any idea where your Robinson's originated from before they were in Canada? Are they from UK? as I think they may have been from Yorkshire - possibly from Batley & Morley area - and the name could have been originally Robertson - why I think this - one of the kids has the name Morley as a name - another is called George Watson Robinson.

I have Robertson (I know for a fact for at least one of my relatives in 1881 census the name was written as Robinson) anyhow - the line is this Faith Watson m George Surr in Batley 1760 (the name of Watson was carried down on the male side) - the family moved to Morley - where a lot of the Surr kids were born - there was a son Miles Surr m Sarah? (I know it is correct but not found marriage yet - they had daughter Faith Surr b 1823 who married Robert Robertson b 1805 in 1843 Leeds, Yorkshire (it was this lady who was transcribed wrong in the 1881 census as a Robinson) Incidentally Robert was from Devon.

It may not be your family - but I thought it may be worth forwarding the info.

I have an extensive tree for this family.............if you think it may help you...........you can always email me at bruyere2@ntlworld.com

All the best ...........Heather Fisher
