Amos Alex Halbert died 1 December 1922 at the age of 80. That day his widow bought cemetery Lot 72, Section 4, south 1/2, at Lake Creek Cemetery west of Bartlett, Kansas. His stone reads Amos A. Halbert, 1842-1922. His wife, died some 20 years later. Her stone at Lake Creek reads Nannie G. Halbert, 1858-1943. Her obit mentions that she had one daughter, Cora Halbert of Wilder Idaho. [Data from The Bartlett Book] The obit of Minnie Clark Leap mentions a sister, Cora Halbert of Homedale Idaho. [Data from Early Settlers of Labette County KS] In 1916 a 27 piece band known as the Citizen Cornet Band of Bartlett was formed to give weekly concerts. One of the members was Clay Halbert who played 3rd alto.
