I recieved the civil war record of John H. Copeland and it states that John was born in Mercer town in TN about 1808. The only town found in TN by the name of Mercer was started about 1880 and John stated on the 1863 civil war record that he was born there. Anyone have any idea if there was another Mercer in TN.. The only on I found is in Madison county in West Tenn.
