This family scattered to the winds, as you can see below. You will have to do a little more research, but I have given you several link where you may find some useful stuff...

From "The Johnson County Democrat", Thursday, December 30, 1926, Vol. VI, No. 6, page 1, column 2

Visit this link, scorll down to the "Obituary Index" link and copy the contact address. Click on the link, find obituary line on the return page title bar ( on the right side) click on it and search on BEAUCHAMP. A listing for William's obituary will come up. You can send a request for a copy to the contact address you noted above.

Note that William is not listed as being buried in the Olathe cemetery, in the cemetery indexed published by the Johnson County Genealogical Society in 1983. So I am not sure where he is buried. Perhaps in Topeka or perhaps in Olathe, without a headstone any more. I have no idea when or where Josephine died.

Harry Ambrose Dead

Husband of the Former Cora Beauchamp of Olathe Dies in McAllen, Texas

Mr. Ambrose was the husdand of the former Miss Cora Beauchamp, Co. (sic)

Mr. Harry Ambrose of McAllen Texas, was buried in Olathe cemetery Tuesday afternoon after a short service at the Julien Undertaking whose family were long residents of Olathe. Mr. Ambrose, who was an instructor in the United Brethren College, died suddenly from heart failure. He is survived by two sons and one duaghter, besides his wife.

Mr. and Mrs. Beauchamp and their family lived on South Cherry Street for many years, and one of their daughters, Miss Hattie Beaucham, married Judge J. O. Rankin, of Paola.

{Note that I have transcribed this death notice as it was published. As you can see it is a bit rought around the edges, as if the copy was not correctly set. You might want to check and see if an obituary was published in a McAllen newspaper, or the college newspaper.}

Jabez O. Rankin

J. O. Rankin, born July 20, 1861, in Fairfield County, Pennsylvania, moved to Missouri with his parents when he was a small boy. He graduated from Lane University, Lecompton, Kansas, and then taught natural sciences there for seveal years. In 1889, he married Hattie Beauchamp, who died in 1915. The Raskins had two children, Don and Veda.

Mr. Rankin moved from Lecompton with his family to attend the University of Kansas Law School. After his graduation from law school, Mr. Rankin praticed law briefly in Kansas City, Kansas, and then, with his family, came to Paola in 1903, and opened a law office.

In 1909, then Governor W. R. Stubbs appointed Mr. Rankin Judge of the 10th Judical District comprising Maimi and Johnson Counties. Judge Rankin was re-elected to this position and served until 1927, traveling by train back and forth between Paola and Olathe to hold court.

Judge Rankin served as president of the Library Board, belonged to a number of Masonic orders, the Odd Fellows, and the Modern Woodmen of America. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Paola until that church disbanded in 1919 at which time, Judge Rankin became a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Judge Rankin died January 13, 1944 and is buried in the Rankin family plot in the Paola cemetery beside his wife, Mrs. Hattie Rankin. Judge Rankin's picture hangs in the Maime County Courthouse in the courtroom over which he had presided. Several years ago, Judge Rankin's daughter, Miss Veda R. Rankin, presented a clock to the courtroom in memory of her father. The clock is on the west wall of the room.

Judge Rankin is still remembered in Paola as a man of integerty and honesty in his dealings with the public. He was a real student of law and his decisions were carefully and thoughtfully made. ----- Evaline Conway

{Note that the death year in the sketch differs from the cemetery index listing. Not sure which one is correct. I recommend that you contact the Miami County Genealogy Society and ask them to check their extensive obitaury clipping file for any and all obituaries for this family. At the very least they will be able to check the newspaper microfilms for J.O.'s obituary in either 1944 or 1945.

At this web page, you can order Texas Death certificates. You might find the death of Cora Beauchamp Ambrose here....

http://www.censusdiggins.com/texas.html#Texas%20Death%20Records

====================================================

The WorldConnect GedCom site has two databases with some of these folks in them.

http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/

The first is the califia1 data base which had the William Beauchamp family in it. It has most of the birth information, but none of the marraige or death information, except the marriage of William to Josephine. This data base was submitted by Daryl Taramasso, email: cdrto5@yahoo.com

The second is the Ambrose data base which has the Hugh Meharry Ambrose family in it. Again, it is short on marraige and death information. It was submitted by Pat, eamil: pasher@ee.net.

=====================================

With reference to Laura's obituary, Mrs. C. H. Ballentine must be Carrie H Beauchamp, and Mrs. William Rickenrode must be Kate Beauchamp. Have you checked the Livingston County, MO marriage records for these girls?????

Note that I have photocopies of the obituaries and sketches transcribed above. Let me know if you would like copies of them.
