Some of my ancestors lived in Jackson County, in the areas of Circleville and Holton. I was searching for information, on one of the Jackson County message boards, and I noticed there was a newspaper called the "Circleville Kicker." Postings to that message board gave a partial listing of articles, from the time period of 1894-1895, listing some of my family. I'm very interested in getting copies of those articles. The postings said I needed to contact the Jackson County Historical Society for more information. Additional information, on the same site, listed articles in a series called "Holton's Colorful History", written by W.T. BECK for "The Holton Recorder" beginning 26 October 1950. I also found some articles in that partial listing regarding my ancestors. For information on these articles I was also supposed to contact the Jackson County Historical Society. I checked the website for the Historical Society for hours and days open and research fees, but couldn't see anything listed. I did see information about a museum but didn't know if the museum and the Historical Society were one and the same. Could someone please tell me the hours and days the Jackson County Historical Society is open? Would their staff be available to do some research? Do you know what they would charge for research and photocopies? Do they charge by the hour and is there a minimum charge? If the Jackson County Historical Society doesn't have staff available for research, would there be someone else you might recommend to do the research and make copies for me? At the present time, I'm specifically interested in the newspaper articles from the above mentioned newspapers. Notify Administrator about this message?
