Hi, This may be helpful. It is from a Gove County marriage, tax, and land records.

John Alexander Ware married Cora Ameda Evans on December 13, 1887 in Grainfield, Gove County, KS. They were married by C. E. Hebard.

John Alexander Ware is the son of Jacob See Ware and Margaret Rhinehart. Cora Evans is the daughter of Martin Devoe Evans and Cynthia Marie Locke.

John Ware shows up on county records in 1887 and both he and wife Cora are in county records through 1891 but not in 1892. The Martin Devoe Evans family is in county records in 1886 and has left by 1891. The Evans family settled in the Hackberry Creek area.

Cora Evans is a school teacher for District 14 at Collyer in 1886 and 1887(Cora was probably the first teacher in District 14). She was paid $75 for 12 weeks of teaching in the 1886/87 school year.

There are several land transactions for both John Ware and Martin Evans between 1887 and 1891. I do not find any transactions after 1891 but John Ware still owns land in Gove County in 1907. Neither family appears on the 1895 state census for Gove County.
