JAMES(PERRY)WRAY;AKA:JOHN PERRY LENEAU?

My gGrandpa was JAMES PERRION WRAY born in Cass county Texas. His Father was Charles Plez Wray and his mother was Ida Mae Penny Wray.
JAMES married Lillie Bell Akin in Cass co.Tx.in 1910. They later moved to Geary co. Ks. James changed his name and left his wife to join the service. I don't know how to find his military records either.
Apparently, he served in WWI in the Army as a motorcycle messanger in France and received a bullet wound to the back of the head. He died yrs. later in 1938,(possibly from this wound, or a suicide,or even Murder.)
He changed his name to possibly;
JOHN PERRY LANAUGH or LENEAU. Apparently, this name was his landlords name in 1914 or thereabout.
He died in this county evidently without any family acknowledgement, either under a false name or his real name, not sure.
I want to know what happend to him and to know where, if at all, he was ever buried.
After all, this is my Great Grandfather.
Can anyone help?
I would be very appreciative,
Thank you so much,
Lu
