John Clark, layed out for dead

A few years ago in some type of Leavenworth, Kansas writings, I read of a John Clark who was thought to be dead, was layed out, but revived two or three days later. I think this happened in Dodge City or therabouts. The newspaper in Leavenworth doesn't do lookups. Can anyone help?
