In the 1900 Census for Enumeration District #27, Page 190 in the Valley Township, Ellsworth County, KS, I found the following:

CHRIST PEIL, age 50, born Nov. 1849 in Germany as were both of his parents, married 25 years.
LOUISA (nee?) PEIL, age 42, born Aug. 1857 in Pennsylvania-parents born in Germany, bore 11 children, 7 of them living.
HENRY PEIL, age 21, born Feb. 1878/79 in Illinois.
LIZZIE PEIL, age 12, born June 1887 in Kansas.
(Actually, she was born June 16, 1886 in Holyrood)
MARTHA PEIL, age 11, born Dec. 1888 in Kansas
CHRIST PEIL, age 10, born Sept. 1889 in Kansas
BERTHA PEIL, age 7, born July 1892 in Kansas

Another daughter, Mina (aka Minnie), born 1879, was living in Barton county as a servant.

Would love to hear from any descendants of ANY of these people.
