I lived at Ellis. That agency ceased business many years ago. I doubt the one at Hays still exists unless under a succesor name. Ellis had three car agencies in the 1930s. It now has none.Two drug stores,it now has none. 5-6 grocery stores, one now.5-6 barbers.The last one just retired. Such is the fate of America's small towns. The building the O'Loughlin agency was in in Ellis has even been razed.-- Ken Haas
