Looking for information on my GGrandfather John Jenkins and family.

John Jenkins b: April 19, 1837 d: November 08, 1917 on Jenkins Farm, Brown Co, Kansas.

Married Mary Elizabeth Frogge       b: July 15, 1842 m: March 06, 1862 d: August 19, 1890.

On Nov 12, 1885 John received a letter from Joseph Schlitzbaum, Office of the County Clerk, Troy, Doniphan Co, KS, containing a draft for Election expenses. A pencil note on the back says it is pay to Judges & Clerks for services in the election. No idea what John's office/position was.
