White Cloud (Kansas) Globe, Thursday, November 20, 1919, page 1:

Mrs. Elizabeth Griffin who died at 6:30 Sunday morning, after an illness of several years, was a
native of southern Ohio. For the past three weeks she had been confined to her bed and required
constant attendance. She had a strong constitution and a tenacious vitality which were the secrets
of her long life of 83 years. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at two o’clock from the
Methodist church. A mixed quartette composed of Rev. N. S. King, Mrs. Myrtle Burkhalter, mrs.
William McCahan and George B. Kelley sang appropriate selections. The burial was at Olive
Branch cemetery. The surviving children are Mrs. Jane Asbury of White Cloud, James Griffin,
Washington, Mo., John Griffin, St. Joseph, Joseph Griffin, Falls City. Her husband Lanneus
Griffin died seven years ago.
