You recented posted a request for an obit on Lemuel Greene Miller who died in Doniphan Co. in 1881. I cannot help with that but am a g-g-g-granddaughter of Lemuel and Mary Metcalf Miller. I would be very interested in any information from Doniphan Co. about this couple who are buried at Charleston Cemetery in Troy. Lemuel was living with his son, James M. Miller b.1824 and his wife Lucinda Beagle Miller. James was an early postmaster in Doniphan Co. Any information about this family would be gratefully received. Lemuel was in Missouri until after the Civil War, raising grandchildren of sons killed fighting on both sides. I cannot find him in the 1870 Census in either MO or KS. Then in 1880, he is in Doniphan Co. in his son's household. Please contact me to share information.
