Sarah Ann Davis & the Iowa & Sac Mission
Posted by: Margaret Mobley (ID *****6795) Date: May 01, 2003 at 08:02:06

I am trying to locate any information I can find concerning Sarah Ann Davis who was born ca 1822 in VA. She was the daughter of James J. and Harriet (Eason) Davis. I have a copy of a letter she wrote in 1848 from the Iowa & Sac Mission (now in Doniphan Co KS) to her Aunt & Uncle (my g-g grandparents) telling about her life at the Iowa & Sac Mission. She mentions a Mrs. Hamilton who was probably the wife of William Hamilton who was a Presbyterian Missionary there by 1837. Does anyone know if information exists about the people that were at the Mission? I have no idea what happened to her after 1848. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
