BOY DO I FEEL STUPID. Thats what I get for reading the genforum after 1:00 am. I read:
Is Fort Scott...
You wrote is Fort SMITH.
And of course you are correct, it is in Arkansas at the Oklahoma/Arkansas border.
If you want to know more on Kansas, The Cutler Book is still excellent site. Except for that link, please disregard my earlier responses.
