Luke Coffey and his wife Bridget are listed in the 1860 Federal U.S. Census of 1860 along with a son Martin. Martin and his wife Julia with their children are listed in the 1870 Census in Leavenworth, Kansas. Martin is listed as a railroad worker. Mary, one of Martin's children is my husband's grandmother. My quest has been to find where in Ireland Luke, Bridget, Martin and Julia were from. Family stories say Co. Cork but I have found Luke Coffey's in Westmeath. Anyone having information on this family would be most welcome to share what we have.
