My husband and I were just up there this weekend but didn't go by the library or the historical society--wish we had now. I did get there in time to spend a couple hours at the Courthouse in Hiawatha. The ladies in the Court Clerk's office were great. I got several marraige license info plus took copies of probate records on Clifton and Louisa Gentry.
There are several associated familes:
Hart,Sevier,Gillispie,Gentry,Rinearson,Guthrie,Cornelison,
Hunter,Stewart,White,Broadston,Hern,Boggs
Several of these familes came out of Madison Co KY. I know some lived in Andrews Co MO. Sarah Davis was a Hart. I have been amazed all the interconnections between several of the families.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. It has turned stormy here this week. Mainly just rain. I am working most of this week plus attending my uncle's funeral the next 2 days in SW Oklahoma. Let me know when you might be down here and maybe we could meet. Thank you for what you sent. Now I am trying to find out who belongs to who and maiden names of wives.
