Newspaper clipping from Grandma's scrapbook (sorry, could not find a date): "Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Edwin Elmer Perkins at the Methodist church. Pallbearers were Frank Perkins of Fredonia, Clarke Perkins, Floyd Burt, Claude Burt, Clarence Burt and John Brown. The sermon was delivered by the Rev. H.D. Morris. The quartet included Mrs. M.D. McKean, Mrs. Lawrence Moore, W.W. Wright and Laurence Moore, with Miss Wilma Bowers at the piano. Edwin Elmer Perkins, son of James W. and Mary Ann Chapman-Perkins, was born in the Dry Ridge neighborhood near Bronson on November 4, 1876. He was the youngest of a family of 13 children. Mr. Perkins attended the Dry Ridge school. he was a devoted son, a kind brother and friend to all. After the passing of his parents he spent some time in different places, finally locating at Kansas City, where he was employed in construction work with several companies, the last of which he served for 15 years. Failing health obliged him to give up his work and he came to Bronson to make his home with his brother, John, and wife, where for the last five years he has had devoted care and attention. Surviving are his brother, John, of Bronson; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Tackett of Uniontown and Mrs. Josie Finley of De Beque. Colo., and a wide circle of other relatives and friends. Interment was made in the Bronson cemetery." Notify Administrator about this message?
