I've been researching my Wife's family, which includes the HESTER surname. What I have learned is this:

Thomas Hester, born in 1871, in Germany, and died in 1939, in Kansas. He immigrated to the United States, in 1874. His mother (I believe) was Eggelina, who married Poet Janssen/Johnston Poets (after Thomas's fathers death). I do not know the name of Thomas Hester's father, though.

Thomas Hester married Anna Elizabeth Ahlrichs (1876-1942).
They had the following children:
John Ray Hester (1895-1928)
Lena H Hester (1898-1981)
Augusta Carolina Hester (1900-1984)
Minnie M Hester (1902-1987)
Edward Hester (1905-1984)
George Tammens Hester (1907-1987)
Thomas T "Pete" Hester (1910-1973)
Anna Elizabeth "Sis" Hester (1912-2003)

Unfortunately, this is as much as I know, at this time.

I pray it helps.
