From the Topeka [KS] State Journal, June 30, 1936, p. 2: WILLIAM L. STALONS William Leonard Stalons died this morning at his home, 530 [sic: should be 1530] Central Park Court. He was born in Atchison, had made his home in Topeka for twenty-one years and was chief clerk of the S.B.A. [Security Benefit Association], a position which he had held for sixteen years. He was a member of Golden Rule lodge No. 90[?], A.F.&A.M., Topeka Consistory, Arab Shrine, Toltec Rite, Modern Woodmen, Union Commercial Trust and the Methodist church. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 o’clock from the Wall-Diffenderfer mortuary, burial in Mt. Vernon cemetey, Atchison. His widow, Mrs. Julia A. Stalons, survives him.
