Hi Chuck,

Thank you for the reply....yes, that's my grandfather. I did manage to send for his death certificate, but know very little about him or his parents. I only know from the (often very unreliable) death record that his father's name was John. Big help that one is:)

I'll have to send for the census records at my local FHC.

Are you a member of the Southwest Kansas Genealogical Society??? I don't have an email for them so I think I just need to send them a letter concerning their fees and publications.
