Norman Twain Krueger Obituary

Dardanelle Arkansas/Madison Wisconsin Norman Twain Krueger, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. He was born on February 2, 1923, in Madison Wisconsin, the son of Mark and Ethel (Taylor) Krueger. Norman graduated from Madison Wisconsin West Side High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Arlis Griswold and they were together for more than 60 years. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2005. Norman worked for more than 30 years for the U.S. Forest Service in radio communications. After his retirement, Norman taught electronics at the Wisconsin School of Electronics in Madison and he was a skilled pilot who taught flying. He was also an accomplished pianist and organist. He was proud to have been taught by his father to be an excellent marksman and Norman loved to tell stories. Norman is survived by his second wife, Dorothy (Renfroe); six children, Susanne Kaufman of New Glarus Wisconsin, Leonard (Melissa) Krueger of Russellville Arkansas, Sherry (Joseph) Steichen of Meriden Kansas, Mark (Anne) Krueger of Broomfield Colorado, Neil (Sabrina) Krueger of Farmington New Mexico, and Bryon (Kris) Krueger of Edgerton Wisconsin; as well as 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and brother, LeRoy Krueger. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Arlis; a son, Thomas; and sister, Evern Casey. Funeral services will be held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009, with the Reverend Don Salisbury presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona Wisconsin, with military rites conducted by the Madison Veterans Firing Squad. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2009.
