I have very little information on the William Kromers in my email, but here is what I have. All of this takes place in Macungie, Northampton County in Pennsylvania. I believe this is currently in Lehigh County, although all records from ancient Macungie seem to reside in the modern Northampton County next to Lehigh. John Kromer is my direct line. He married Margaret Trexler. Margaret’s father John Trexler left a will in 1795. John Kromer was one of the executors, and one of the witnesses to that will was William Kromer, Jr. John's wife Margaret was born in 1770, so it is likely that John and William were of similar birthdate. Your William Kromer of 1806 could easily have been a grandson of either John or William Jr. It is more than likely that William Kromer, Jr. is a relative of John’s – a brother or cousin is most likely. Given that the witness William Kromer, Jr. is a Junior, then his father was William Kromer, Sr. This William Kromer Sr. is most likely the same William Kromer who was the captain of the 4th Co. 4th Battalion, Northampton County Militia on June 18, 1777. It is possible that there may be further records in other military resources. I have not been able to find much on either of the William Kromers. If you find any information that proves my John Kromer is William’s son, or any other information of William’s family and antecedents, please share it with me! Good luck in your search!
