Dear David,
the name "Kroeck" is an old german name from Heuchelheim, a little town near Frankfurt. The name is based on an old paper from the year 1412. In 1412 the name of the Heuchelheim-mayor was "Krackenauer". "Kroeckauer" (1520), "Kroecker" (1536) and at least "Kroeck" (Johann Kroeck, 1568).
This informations I got out of the book "Heuchelheim bei Gießen" from 1939.
Excuse my bad english.
Greetings from Germany,
Hans-Werner Kroeck
Munic/Germany
