I am looking for a greatgrandmother. We think her name was Kreiner or Kriner--not sure of the spelling and to make it worse, we're not even sure of her first name, my mom thinks it was Ella or like that. Story has it that she came over on a boat of Germans emmigrants back in the late 1800's. We not sure if she ever married, but she had two boys, Clyde Schwartz (b around 1884) and Harold White (b?). We know from my grandmothers letter that she lived in Buffalo at one time because my grandmother stayed with her until my grandfather got out of the navy (when they got married). We also think this greatgrandmother had left the boys at a catholic orphanage, but we don't know how old they were or how long they were there. It could have been near Queens. We don't know much about her, but mom says she heard she was headstrong and didn't want to marry because she did not want a man telling her what to do! I got the impression that Harold didn't want much to do with his mother and there was a rumor that Harold was her son by some politician, maybe, Ohio, Illinois, but that may have been just a rumor. I would appreciate any help--I know info is sketchy.
