Kim, Thank you for your message. I believe that Ludwig (Louis) Kreis was Reformed Lutheran as the woman he married was of that faith. This branch of the Kreis remained in St. Louis and changed their name to "Kress". The only one who left was my ancestor, Henry Kreis, who came to Chicago. I believe that Ludwig came to America as a child with his parents, but I have no knowledge of him before the 1870 St. Louis Census, Series: M593 Roll: 820 Page: 33 Do you know any living Kreises in/near Chicago? I have found three living Kries cousins from this line, but they don't know much even about Henry. Pat Notify Administrator about this message?
