I have an original five generation photograph of “Sarah Rentfro, John Hospet, Josephine Hangslaben, Irene Kramer and Virgil Kramer”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in Belleville (St. Clair Co.) IL. The text on the back, which is poorly written says “Bella Knight: This is your mother Sarah Rentfre (Renfrow), grandfather John Hospet (or Hosfet), sis to Josa Hangolibin, niece Irena Kramer and son Virgil Kramer”
I found Virgil Kramer in the 1920 census for Belleville (St. Clair Co.) IL, age 1, son of Jesse and Irene Kramer, and living with them was Irene’s mother Josephine Hansleben. Irene Kramer was age 18, and Josephine Hansleben was age 33. There were lots of “Hangsleben” and “Hounsleben” families in St. Clair Co., IL, near St. Louis, MO. I was unable to find any John Hospet/Hosfet or Sarah Renfroe/Rentfrere – but possibly the Kramer family can identify the correct spellings.
