Are you sure he was in Cuyahoga Co.? There was another Newburgh in Ohio about that time which had more of a chance to finding German ancestors. It was in Jefferson Co. on the East side of the state along the Ohio River. There were Craul/Crowl/Crowells in that area. Newburgh is now called Toronto.

I founded the Crowl Name Association in Dec 1984 and wrote the first newsletter in March 1985. We research the name and its 43 varient spellings.

We have started a DNA project to try to answer questions that tradtional research has not answered.
