Hello--I would be interested to know if you learned more about this family. You had also e-mailed me directly back in 1999.

My Krahn ancestors lived in Dundee Twp. from 1867 until the late 1870s, when they left to homestead in southwestern Minnesota. For a while, I had my ancestors confused with those you are seeking because of similar names.

My g-grandparents were Charles F W Krahn and Albertine nee Ludtke (or Ludke). I suspect there must be some connection between the families because I was always told my ancestors came to Dundee Twp. to join relatives who were already living there. I have not been able to make the connection.

I have a page from the 1880 US Census that puts the Krahns you are seeking in Dundee Twp. with Charles married to Albertine at that time, and showing four children: Emma 15, Frank 8, Albert 5, and Anna 2(?). Emma must have been from the first marriage to Cynthia Hull, who I believe was your ancestor--yes?
