Janet, sorry it has taken so long to respond, apparently no notification is sent when one has a message under this message site. Regarding Louis and Elizabeth Kovacs on the 1920 census, it was listed as Kovach and misslisted in 1930 as Kobacs. Some later information found is a border crossing from Canada to Noyes Minnesota by Elizabeth Kovacs showing an address in Elmwood Manitoba and and an immigration date of six month earlier arriving in Halifax. (if I'm reading the dates correctly) Why she went from Halifax to Manitoba is beyond me. Perhaps she had relatives in Manitoba. She has also listed her closest relative in Hungary as her mother in law, Susanna Igaz Falva. I suspect Igaz is the city and my understanding is Falva means village. I'm fairly sure this is my Elizabeth, because the immigration date fits, the age fits, and John Bolla paid her passage and there exists a strong Bolla family connection.
