I'd like to add a comment to Zlatica's excellent information. Do not be confused about finding birthplaces listed as "Hungary, Czechoslavakia, Austria, & Austria-Hungary." With the possible exception of "Austria," which might point to the Czech Republic, they are all referring to historic Hungary. When these people were born, the country was Hungary. Czechoslovakia did not exist when these people were born but did exist at the time of the censuses. Upper Hungary became a part of Czechoslovakia and is now the independent country of Slovakia.
