See the story of this town on: http://bittelbronn.homepage.com Benedict Kost was b. 18 Mar. 1810, and went to Amer in 1837. The family record in Bittelbronn shows the following children of Urban Kost (1774-1847) & Sophia Wenz (1777-1853): Mathaus, 9 Sept. 1801; Valentinus, 13 Feb. 1804; Katharina, 16 Apr. 1806; Joachim, 18 Aug 1807; Benedictus, 18 mar 1810; Pius, 3 Mar 1812; Margaretha, 14 July 1814; Maria Ana, 29 Mar. 1830. Urban Kost was son of George Kost & Katharina Shafer. Sophia Wenz was dau. of Martin Wenz & Mary Ann Fischer. These records of the Catholic Church at Bittelbronn are on LDS microfilm #909596.
