I'm a decendent of Fredrick A. Kortkamp (1862-1930). I have the same understanding that Bruce C. Brown indicated in his response to your inquiry. Fredrick had two sons and a daughter. Alfred (Fred) Louis' two daughters, my Dad's 1st cousins, lived/live in St. Louis as I remember. Although I didn't know the Andersons, I do know they kept in touchwith my parents. Edwin Wood, Fredrick's 2nd son and my grandfather, moved from Hillsboro, IL to Champaign, IL around 1911 and worked as a Master Plummer for the University of Illinois. My dad worked in the retail grocery business, living most of his live in Champaign. His brother Bruce died as an infant and his brother Jack died in Germany in May, 1945 during the last days of the war. I "think" that Fredrick's daughter, Mabel Doris also lived with her husband Ed Canady in St. Louis. Does this indicate that Fredrick also moved to the St. Louis ares when the Kortkamp Mine was shut down?
Responding to Bruce's note, Karl's "tree" for Fredrick's decendents indicates he had 1 brother and 1 sister.
