That was my great grandfather that owned a plantation in Alabama.He fought the military so that the slaves had a chance to escape and be free.I will find out more.He was a decendant of George Kornegay which was the only child left after an indian massacre.The family originated in the Black forest between Gerany and Swiss.The comunity no longer exist.My grandfather was Roy C and Theresa Kornegay which had 14 children. They came from Orange Tx. moved to Gause Tx onto Roanoke Tx.Many are in NC.
