HQ & HQ Co. 27th INF. APO 25 Nov. 1950-Nov 1951

My Dad, John Leo Smith, was in Korea from Nov 1950- Nov 1951. His unit was HQ & HQ CO. 27TH INF. APO 25. He mentioned the "Wolfhounds." He was a radio operator. He died in June 2000, he is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. We didn't know he was a hero until we got his DD214, he talked very little about his time there. It would mean so very much to me to hear from anyone in his unit or that knew him. My Dad was 1 of 3 brothers from Hazel, South Dakota who served in Korea and WW11. One brother, Robert, was a POW for over a year. Came home weighing 90 lbs and has never spoken of it till now.
Lest We Forget.
