Kathy, My father also was a veteran of the Korean War although he was stationed in Germany during that time. His name is Elvin W. Harper and he was stationed at Mannheim, Germany, his living quarters during 1953 was Sullivan Barracks. Also during this time my uncle, Arvie H. Harper was stationed in Karlsruke, Germany. I remeber my Dad saying what a coincidence it was for them both to be stationed in Germany at the same time. My Dad never talked about what part being in Germany played in this war. I lost my Dad to a massive heart attack in 1994 and I'm very proud of both my Dad and my Uncle. Yes you're right, there is not enough recognition for these veterans and what this War really was.
