The war in Korea was a result of the Communist North Korea invasion of South Korea on 25 June 1950. It was a very important war in that it is the only time the United States took up arms to forcefully halt a communist takeover of a peaceful nation.

Also, a very good one is www.koreanwar-educator.org.
