Thanks for replying to my post.
A connection is possible, though I can't make one at this time. My great aunt married Walter Kopper. Their daughter and I have been exchanging information, about the family of her mother (my great aunt) mainly. I told her I would post some queries about the Kopper name for her. I do not know the name of Walter's father, but I do know that his grandfather's name was Charles Kopper. I believe my cousin said that Charles was born in 1855. The family was from Malchow, southeast of Hamburg, near the Hungarian border. Charles married a Louis Kohloff. Charles immigrated to the US, but I do not know when exactly. Walter's father was born in 1885, but I am unsure if that was in New York state or Malchow. This Kopper family settled upstate - the name of the town escapes me at the moment, but it was near Saratoga.
I'll pass along the info in your reply to my cousin, and let you know if she has anything more to add.
