Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Susannah Kroeker Koop and her children, Heinrich, Barbara, Johann, Peter, Abraham and Margaret arrived in the United States on 25 July 1875 at the port of Philadelphia on the SS Nederland out of Antwerp. They settled in Turner County, SD near Marion or Paker. The father (and husband of Susannah) Johann Koop, died in Molotschanna Colony, Russia before the family left for the United States. The family and their ancestors were Mennonites. Johann (Jr.) married Maria Sperling, daughter of Cornelius Sperling and Eva Wedel and had several children, among whom was my grandmother, Sarah Coupe. At some time between 1880 and 1900, the family moved to North Dakota. I would be happy to share information on the ancestors and descendants of this family.
