Michael KOONCE – Captain in the Revolutionary War – (Active in public affairs in Craven and Jones Cos. NC. Held rank of captain in the Jones County Militia during the American Revolutionary War. Age at death was 52 yrs 1 mos 29 days)
b. 6 Jun 1730 - Craven County (now Jones) North Carolina
(also have 5 Jun 1730)
d. Killed 4 Aug 1782 – Will 25 May 1780 – proven September term 1782

Koonce Bible: “Captain Michal Koonce the son of George Koonce, Senr. Died on August the 4th 1782 at an age of 52 yrs 1 mos and 29 days.” written by James Wiley Benjamin KOONCE after the 1845 publishing date.
