I'm looking for ancestery of Thomas Koonce born about 1860, whose son was David Thomas Koonce. Could his father have been the Confederate soldier you mentioned. According to Tennessee State library records, John Jackson Koonce, born December 15, 1832, in Bedford Cty. TN, was the only man by the name of Koonce in either Confederate or Union armies. He died in 1916 in Grapevine, Texas.
