The two letters following were found in the KOHR (or HENNING) file at the Lebanon Co. PA Historical Society. Some of the information may well be mis-informaton. All of the information that I have found on Christian Kohr (s/o of Georg Casper Kohr, m. Maria Catharina Neff) says that he died in East Hanover Twp., [now] Lebanon Co., PA. These letters say otherwise... If you have any possible thoughts regarding these letters, please reply to Jane Barr Torres (email@example.com) or on this board. The letters follow.

Would you check Orphan Court Records of Michael Kohr, who died about 1837 and also Christian Kohr, who had land in E. Hanover Twp. Lebanon Co., but died somewhere in Ohio in 1824. (Maybe records will state County.)

Register & Recorder:
I am interested in the sale of property, two certain tracts of land situated in East Hanover Twp. Lebanon Co., Pa and owned by Christian Kohr or Core.
I checked the Orphan Court Records, after not finding a will and found John and Jacob Kohr, sons of Christian Kohr late of East Hanover Twp. Lebanon Co., petitioned the Orphan Courts, Aug. 1837, humbly showeth that their said father died intestate on or about the 10th of March, in the year 1824, leaving a widow named Catherine, who is since deceased, [and] issue of five children.
In the 1820 Census of Lebanon County, Christian Kohr was in E. Hanover Twp., Lebanon. Also his sons John, Jacob, & Michael. Christian Kohr died in Ohio State, no Twp. mentioned, leaving the widow, married Jacob Hennig, of the State of Ohio. John & Jacob Kohr were above the age of 21 years. Christian Kohr's son Michael died in 1837 and his children are mentioned in the Orphan's Records. A guardian was appointed for Michael's seven children. They guardian was Jacob Weiley Esq.
I had hoped to get back to Lebanon and check the sale of land, but my health will not permit me. So., I am hoping that I can clear it up through your office. I would like to know to whom the land was sold and did Catherine and Jacob Hennig, sign and whether there was any Twp. mentioned in Ohio, as to where the Hennig's lived in Ohio.
The petitioners, John and Jacob Kohr, wanted the land divided. If land was not divided, then could they appraise it? D-Book, Orphan Court Records, p. 497, the Meeting of Appraisal, Oct. 9th 1837. Orphans Court, March 19th 1839, John Kohr; Jacob Kohr; and Catherine and Jacob Hennig, refuse to take land. This is as far as I had gone on this search.
