Hello, I am researching my Coleman (previous alternate Kuhlman spelling) and came across the following which might be a possible lead for you. www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/oh/jefferson/census/1850/steubenvilletownship/008... If this link does not work, look for 1850 census, Steubenville Township...the handwriting is nice-looking but difficult (for me) to read. In a household of a William ?McC____, glassblower, age 38 from Del., several children are listed, and the final name entered in this household is: Rebecca (appears to be Kohlman), age 58, female.. (appears to show Penn.) I am searching for my Jacob Coleman (we think his father used an alternate spelling, such as Kuhlman, and may have come from Germany) born 1839 in or near Steubenville, OH. In 1851 he moved to Illinois with his parents (names not known yet) so I am hoping to find them in a Steubenville-area census. Do not know of siblings yet, either. By 1850 census it appears he'd be about 10 or 11. Good luck, I hope this helps someone. Notify Administrator about this message?
