I've been researching the Koeppen family in Muscatine and I frequently see it spelled Koepping or Kepping. William and Charlotte Koeppen came from prussia in 1887. They had children named William, Mary, Pauline, Herman, Martin, Anna and Hermina. I believe that there were already a Herman and a Martin Koeppen in Muscatine when this family came, also a C.A.F. Koeppen. Have you ever run across these in your research?? JAY
