Does anyone have more information about Margaretha Koening (King) Schaeffer?
Since she married in 1774, she was probably born about the same time as Jacob in 1757.
All I have about her was recorded at the Zion Red Church at Brunswick, Berks County, Pa.:
She was single and one of the sponsors with Jacob Schaeffer at the following baptism. She and Jacob married later the same year.
SCHAEFFER, Jacob b 8 Oct 1773 s/o Johannes and Maria bp 8 May 1774 Sp:Jacob SCHAEFFER and A Margaretha KOENING
Then here is how her marriage is listed:
SHEFFER,Jacob and A Marg KING 29 Nov 1774
Then two of their children's births are listed:
SCHAEFFER SCHAEFFER,Johannes b 15 Dec 1780 bp 12 Apr 1781
Jacob and Margaretha [KOENIG] Sp:Johannes SCHWEINHARD and Anna Elizabeth DORNBACH
SCHAEFER, Jacob 25 Apr 1790 bp 5 Aug 1790 s/o Jacob and Margaretha [KOENIG]Sp John DORNBACH and Margaretha [SCHAEFFER].
After that I find nothing. Who were her parents. Were they from Brunswick? Wonder if the A in front of her name is for Anna. Strange it is put in this way too. Hope to hear from someone who can help.
