Kochersperger genetic origin proven by Y chromosome DNA test

The Kochersperger surname and it's variants of Kochensparger, Kochensperger, Kochersberger and Cochensparger has been irrefutibly proven to be genetically linked to the Guggisberg family of Bern, Switzerland. This confirms the documentary record as evident from the oldest church records of Rittershoffen in Alsace, France dated 1664. The Y-chromosome test had been performed on a descendant of Johann Martin Kochersperger (born 1752; died 1822), a native from Rittershoffen, Alsace, France who had immigrated to Pennsylvania around 1771/72. The test result from the 12-marker test was a 100% perfect match with the results of name bearers Guggisberg from Bern, Switzerland. An refinement of this test from 12 markers to 37 markers in now currently underway and the results of which may be indicative as to which branch of the Guggisbergs the Kocherspergers are descended from. The surname Kochersperger exists due to a clerical spelling error made by the Rittershoffen parish scribe in the year 1673 and onwards.
