Re: Kocher Family of Pennsylvania
I am a descendent of Johan (Hans) Georg Kocher - Johann Heinrich Kocher - Henry Kocher Jr. - George Washington Kocher (b. 9 Jul 1790 pr Northampton Co, PA, and d. abt l858, Mercer Co, PA).I have a gap in my knowledge of George W. and his first marriage and family.Could someone out there help me?
His first wife's name was Mary (surname uncertain, maybe Keiler, from Phil. area), and one account says that he had three children, two sons and a daughter, Christine.I have found the following info on his son, Edward from Civil War pension file (Edw. was b. 23 Jun 1825, (where?), m. Caroline Wentzel 30 Jun 1850 in Trinity Ref. Church, Pottstown PA.They had 4 children: Mary E, b. 17 Oct 1850; George W. b. 30 Sep 1852; Sarah Amanda, b. 4 Feb 2855; and Matilda, b. 10 Jul 1857).

(Spring Garden) with one son, and two daughters.
